I took the pics when I participated in Hero Fresh Male and Female 2005, the search for Hero male and female icons.There were 1,800 entrants throughout Indonesia and out of those, 12 grand finalists (6 males and 6 females) were recruited.I was one of them.
The contest is similar to "ABANG AND NONE JAKARTA".The criteria were 3B (Brain, Beauty and Behaviour), however the difference lie in the scope.ABNON was only for Jakarta residents while Hero Fresh was aimed nationwide.Secondly, the participants of ABNON are mainly university student while HERO's were mostly professionals.There were doctors, product managers in multinational corporations, photographers, journalists and even senior models. There were a lot of great people in Hero Fresh Male and female in 2005.Take my room mate, Seto.He was Cosmo Man, Abang Jakarta and works as a PILOT for an airline!!Rudy is a Business development Manager for AUSTRADE (Australian Trade Commission) and was a graduate of a very reputable Australian university. Sarah was a Gadis Sampul finalist and was PR of PT Agrakom(Publisher of the well-known WWW.DETIK.COM) at that time.She is now the presenter for ETALASE in Trans TV. Eva, (The winner of HERO Fresh Female 2005) was a medical student in University of Indonesia.After Hero, she became the finalist of Miss Indonesia. Cynthia was an account manager at an advertising agency at the time and was a PUTERI INDONESIA finalist. Sari was an ANEKA Top Guest winner and had appeared in several soaps/Sinetrons.She and Sarah appeared in a lot of TV commercials after Hero.
Hero Fresh Male and female 2005 was aired in INDOSIAR during the fasting month.There were 2 Grand prizes, 2 TOYOTA VIOS for Hero Fresh Male and Female (Priced at Rp. 167 Mio each at that time). It received quite a lot of attention since the publicity shots of the 12 grand finalists were posted in all HERO outlets throughout Indonesia. Again, free publicity!!:p
