HERO FRESH MALE AND FEMALE 2005

I took the pics when I participated in Hero Fresh Male and Female 2005, the search for Hero male and female icons.There were 1,800 entrants throughout Indonesia and out of those, 12 grand finalists (6 males and 6 females) were recruited.I was one of them.

The contest is similar to "ABANG AND NONE JAKARTA".The criteria were 3B (Brain, Beauty and Behaviour), however the difference lie in the scope.ABNON was only for Jakarta residents while Hero Fresh was aimed nationwide.Secondly, the participants of ABNON are mainly university student while HERO's were mostly professionals.There were doctors, product managers in multinational corporations, photographers, journalists and even senior models. There were a lot of great people in Hero Fresh Male and female in 2005.Take my room mate, Seto.He was Cosmo Man, Abang Jakarta and works as a PILOT for an airline!!Rudy is a Business development Manager for AUSTRADE (Australian Trade Commission) and was a graduate of a very reputable Australian university. Sarah was a Gadis Sampul finalist and was PR of PT Agrakom(Publisher of the well-known WWW.DETIK.COM) at that time.She is now the presenter for ETALASE in Trans TV. Eva, (The winner of HERO Fresh Female 2005) was a medical student in University of Indonesia.After Hero, she became the finalist of Miss Indonesia. Cynthia was an account manager at an advertising agency at the time and was a PUTERI INDONESIA finalist. Sari was an ANEKA Top Guest winner and had appeared in several soaps/Sinetrons.She and Sarah appeared in a lot of TV commercials after Hero.

Hero Fresh Male and female 2005 was aired in INDOSIAR during the fasting month.There were 2 Grand prizes, 2 TOYOTA VIOS for Hero Fresh Male and Female (Priced at Rp. 167 Mio each at that time). It received quite a lot of attention since the publicity shots of the 12 grand finalists were posted in all HERO outlets throughout Indonesia. Again, free publicity!!:p

BINTANG MODEL INDONESIA 2005

The picture was made when I took part in " Bintang Model Indonesia 2005".It was basically a modelling contest, but we have to show other talents that we have, such as singing dancing. acting etc.

It was a pretty nice and memorable contest, located at Hotel Aston.We had some training in acting and catwalk.I chose singing and songwriting as my talents, and I sang my own song "TAKUT KEHILANGANMU" which was written in 2004. The response was very positive, the audience were clapping from the moment I came on stage doing the catwalk.I won the "People's choice/Juara favorit" award.There was no 1st place or second place winner, only "All around winner", "Rolling trophy" and "People's choice" awards.

BEST(BINTANG ENTERTAINMENT SEGALA TALENTA) ANEKA 2005

The pic was taken when I tried my luck at "BEST (Bintang Entertainment Segala Talenta)" 2005 held by ANEKA and Aditya Gumai's SANGGAR ANANDA.

There were several categories: vocal, modelling, acting and presenting.I chose singing category since I already participated in contests in modelling and presenting and have appeared in 7 soaps(sinetrons) by that time.

I came out as the SOLE (Only) winner out of 1500 contestants in VOCAL category.The jury was Ucie Nurul, the vocal coach for Indonesian Idol and Idola Cilik.She is also a member of ELFA's singer, a very reputable vocal group that has been around since the '80's.

SARAH AZHARI MENCARI MODEL VIDEO KLIP 2006

The pic was taken from "GENIE" tabloid when I participated in "Sarah Azhari Mencari Model Video Klip".It was a nationwide contest held by Sarah Azhari's label to find models for her latest video clip.There were thousands of entrants from around the country and I was selected as one of four grand winners..

Seemed like a simple contest but it wasn't since we had to undergo almost two months of voting through SMS(Short Message Service) by the public!!However there was a huge "fringe benefit", though. My picture along with other contestants' appeared EVERY WEEK on the third or fifth page of GENIE nd ROAMING tabloids.And that's a LOT OF free publicity hahaha

COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE - HOT HUNK 2004

The above pics were taken from July and December 2004 issue of COSMOPOLITAN magazine.I was one of the winners of the Cosmo Hot Hunk competition.The theme was to choose 34 sexy men from all provinces throughout Indonesia.

I could hardly believe it at that time since I never considered my self as being sexy...I've always had this image of me being the "nerd, boring kind"....The other contestants were good looking, tall and well-built and I couldn't understand why I was chosen as one of the winners, I was also shocked to learn that the other contestant were sending nearly NUDE pics of themselves to Cosmo..While I only sent a close-up pic wearing an orange t-shirt attached above!!So simple..Well, I DID find people telling me I looked sexy a couple of times in the past, but I just laughed it off..Well, I guess, beauty or in this case, sex appeal IS in the eye of the beholder :p
